THE STAGE – Former actor launches 200-seat Barn Theatre in Cirencester

A new 200-seat theatre is to open in Cirencester later this year.

The Barn Theatre, which is attached to grade II-listed Ingleside House, aims to be a major producing house for the area. The theatre will be unsubsidised and privately funded.

Ingleside House is owned by retired businessman Ian Carling, who has spent £4 million redeveloping the building, including turning its former hall into a theatre space with orchestra pit, rehearsal rooms, green room and dressing rooms. The redevelopment also includes a 60-seat restaurant and piano bar.
