Colin Elmer

Colin is an actor, voice-over artist and impressionist.  He’s delighted to join the cast of ‘The 39 Steps’ in his first production for The Barn Theatre, relishing the challenge of playing the myriad characters involved. However, he’s no stranger to multi-rolling. Earlier this year he appeared as Kenneth Williams in Apollo Theatre Company’s national tour of Hancock’s Half Hour, portraying the various characters that Williams originally created. Since 2015, he’s toured nationally in Round the Horne, including an eight-week London run. Its popularity led to his one-man show, Cult Figure: Kenneth Williams.

In 2018, he appeared as Spike Milligan in Apollo Theatre Company’s The Goon Show. The national tour marked Milligan’s centenary, ending with a Gala performance with guests, Lance Ellington, Eddie Izzard, Jane Milligan and Norma Farnes.

Other theatre work include: Mr. Novel in The Plain Dealer, Gloucester in Richard III, Siegfried Sassoon in Not About Heroes, Sir Robert Morton in The Winslow Boy, Alain in God of Carnage, Barrett in The Servant, Serge in ‘Art’ and Lars in Festen.

As a voiceover artist, Colin has created character voices for games such as Wahammer: Total War (Creative Assembly/Sony), Invizimals (PitStop Productions), Divinity: Original Sin (Larian Studios) Quote (Vindit), SPACE HULK: Deathwing (SIDE) as well as various BBC Open University online games. He’s provided narration for commercials and even the odd film trailer. Radio highlights include The Comedy Club Interviews (BBC Radio 4Extra) with Jake Yapp.

If you can manage to count the number of characters he plays in this production, please let him know, he’s trying to get paid per role.
