That’s it! We,We’ve reached the end of Term One! My goodness, those 12 weeks absolutely flew by…the Human Poppy, the We Remember 1918 concert, the Advent Festival, the end of term festivities…the Barn Academy have been super busy, and super brilliant!
The Advent Festival went really well. So many people in the Market Place to see the Christmas lights get switched on, and I was so proud of the way the Barn Academy performed. They sang ‘A Million Dreams’ from that film…..I can’t remember what its called….of course I can! From the fantastic film The Greatest Showman. Then our brilliant Imogen sang a fab little number from Elf the Musical. She has the brightest future ahead of her. All of the students do. Then, the Barn Academy sang a number from Whistle Down the Wind, which happens to be one of my favourites. Big cheers were heard after we performed, and then we were all treated a little snippet from Just So – The Musical, the Barn Theatre’s Christmas show. It was fantastic! I have since watched the entire show, and I could not recommend it enough. It is pure joy. Perfect family entertainment for Christmas.
Then, before we knew it, it was the last Sunday! Alex and Darren were away working so we had the brilliant Rosie teaching drama, and the fantastic Richard teaching singing. We also had some parents and family members watching some of the classes… I was really hoping lots may have joined in but only a brave few were daring enough! At 12pm, we all entered Ingleside’s beautiful Marquee for the Barnies performance of The Elves and the Shoemaker, and my goodness….they were just fantastic. They have worked so hard all term under the guidance of the fabulous Katrina with help from Tori, and it was a delight to see them get to perform for all the parents and students of the Barn Academy. They certainly rose to the challenge, and got us all in the festive spirit! The Barn Academy then performed some of the songs from this term, beautifully as ever, and then it was time for tea, coffee, sweets and mince pies! We sang some carols, we chatted a lot, and then we all parted feeling thoroughly festive and ready to see the New Year in.
Thank you to all of you at the Barn Academy, parents included, for all of your hard work, your personality and your infectious spirit. It is a joy to work with all of you. Bring on 2019!! Honk! Next term is going to be utterly brilliant….a tale of love, family, individuality and respect. What could be better than that?!
Stay tuned for more “Bloggers in my Joggers” in 2019….
Merry Christmas Everyone, and Happy New Year!
